Oslob is one of the rare places in the world where Whale Sharks can be seen year round.
Whale Sharks have naturally been visiting Oslob for many years and quickly the opportunity to swim with them got out and the area gained a reputation worldwide. These creatures are extremely docile and 100% safe to swim with, the local government has stepped in to regulate the activity and ensure these animals are protected and monitored.
It is no secret that these Whale Sharks are being fed a diet of shrimp and krill by the locals to ensure their year round presence. The policy has split public opinion, with some reports indicating the feeding activity may have influence the animals’ behavior. But whether or not you agree with the feeding policy of these gentle giants, it is difficult to turn down what is an opportunity to swim with up to 15 Whale Sharks at the same time in shallow coastal waters!
Canyoneering at the Kawasan Waterfalls is one of Cebu’s top attractions!
Canyoneering (or canyoning) is a popular outdoor trek that involves traveling down creeks or streams within a canyon through a variety of means including walking, jumping, swimming and climbing!
Canyoneering is one of the most rewarding and fun excursions offered in the Philippines, rappelling down pristine waterfalls into crystal clear fresh water rivers. A once in a lifetime opportunity and one you will certainly never forget.
Moalboal offers you a once in a lifetime experience: a million sardines just off the shore.
Swimming with this giant school of fish is a very special experience that you don’t want to miss out on. The Moalboal Sardine Run does not move and can always be found in the Panagsama beach area, providing visitors with the opportunity to see this spectacle year-round.
The schools tend to be between 2 -15 meters/7 – 40 feet making it an enjoyable experience for scuba divers, free divers and snorkelers alike. Many tourists travel to Moalboal specifically to see this natural phenomenon, and our guests at The Blue Orchid Resort are always blown away by the sardine run’s sheer magnitude.
